In Celebration of Robbie Burns

Whether they know it or not, most people in the world know the poetry of Robbie Burns. The Scottish poet (Jan 25, 1758 - July 21, 1796) wrote many many poems and songs, including the one that every one knows - For Auld Lang Syne. Every January 25, Scots around the world (and a few honorary Scots) lift a glass in celebration of his life and his contributions. Here are some shots from the local Robbie Burns Night, put on by the Celtic Arts Society and Royal Canadian Legion.

I thought you'd enjoy these Heather! Did you end up continuing with the drums or was that more of a CR thing?

It's actually taken quite a while to split my enjoyment from being involved with the pipe band from my less than pleasant memories of a certain bagpiper so I still take out my beaters and spin them to Pipe Band mp3s I haven't been part of a band since CR. I'm considering going for the Kimberly Pipe Band and taking lessons for the chanter next time they offer the lessons.
